A watch that is too big looks awkward, and one that is too small can feel lost on the wrist. Sport watches tend to have bold, larger cases, so it is worth checking the size before you buy.
Step 1: measure your wrist
Wrap a flexible tape measure (or a strip of paper, then measure it with a ruler) around the bone of your wrist, where you normally wear a watch. Write down the circumference in millimeters or inches.
Step 2: compare with the strap range
Every product page lists the wearing range of the strap. Your wrist measurement should fall comfortably inside it, so the strap closes on a middle hole rather than the very first or last one.
Step 3: check the case diameter and thickness
As a rule of thumb, a larger case suits larger wrists and a bolder look. If your wrist is on the smaller side, a big case can overhang the edges of your wrist. Thickness matters too: a slim case slides under a cuff more easily.
